INVESTCOST combines the two things I am passionate about – investments and cost control (and commercial management in general).

Professionally, I am a senior commercial analyst at a large engineering company. I provide specialist project control capability to enable program directors and engineering managers execute complex projects. This involves project planning, tracking costs and schedule performance, as well as analysis and reporting to support decision making. (OK, that’s just a lot of words to say.. I look after the business end of things!)

I am also an avid follower of the financial markets and have been an investor since my university days, aiming to push my ‘net worth’ further by starting young, and investing wisely in property and equity markets.

There are already plenty of websites out there that cover financial markets, but not as many specifically aimed at individual investors (particularly an Australian one). This blog will primarily follow my life as an Australian ‘casual’ investor, where I hope to share my personal thoughts, views and lessons with anyone with similar interests.

I will occasionally share some of my own stories and lessons from my ‘day job’ just to provide some insights into how commercial management plays a role in organisations.
